The 2011 Land Rover Discovery 4 may seem to carry the weight of the years, but it’s mostly an illusion.
We analyze every detail to truly understand its condition: the headlights and infotainment system clearly show their age, yet every scratch and mark tells a story and guides us through the restoration journey.
After the evaluation, we defined a clear and detailed plan. I was looking for an off-road vehicle with strong towing capacity — the Discovery 4 can tow up to 3,500 kg, perfect for hauling my other cars.
Plus, with its 7 available seats, it’s ideal for a weekend in the mountains or carrying lots of gear — in short, a truly versatile vehicle.
No other off-roader on today’s market (except the new Defender) gave me that mix of robustness and reliability I was after.
I chose this model because the 3.0 V6 diesel engine is known for its durability.
Together, we planned how to bring it back to its former glory, scheduling times, materials, and work phases.
Every step was designed to ensure a lasting and quality result.
Nothing is left to chance: we disassemble every component to intervene in the best way possible.
This phase is essential to clean, repair, and replace what’s needed, both outside and inside the vehicle.
In particular, we removed all the interior linings to access every hidden area, ensuring a thorough and complete restoration.
The interiors were completely restored: seats, panels, dashboard, and details all look like new.
Every material was carefully chosen to maintain comfort and style without sacrificing original quality.
We didn’t just refresh the interiors; we made several improvements: all fabric surfaces were reupholstered with technical dark-colored material (replacing the original beige);
an EasyLift module was added to enhance the vehicle’s air suspension performance;
and a CarPlay module was installed to update the infotainment system.
Changing the color is more than just aesthetics: it’s a true transformation that gives the vehicle a new personality.
The bodywork is carefully prepared and painted using professional techniques to achieve a flawless finish.
The color wasn’t in the Land Rover palette—instead, it’s a Lamborghini shade.
This metallic paint dramatically changes its appearance when it catches the sunlight.
An off-road vehicle isn’t complete without the spare tire on the tailgate, a symbol of adventure and practicality.
For this project, I drilled the bumper to make space, created a custom bracket with bearings, and built a sturdy structure designed to support up to 50 kg even off-road.
To finish, I crafted a personalized spare wheel cover to match the vehicle’s style, combining function and authentic spirit.
The vehicle is ready to hit the road again, with new life and reliable performance.
After a complete check-up, brand-new interiors, and a stunning exterior, the Land Rover Discovery 4 is ready for anything.
The first test was a 1,000 km journey across the Italian and French Alps, equipped with a custom roof rack built to carry everything needed for a true adventure.
